What happens during women’s health appointments?
Women’s health appointments at the The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center often begin with an evaluation of your vital signs, body mass index (BMI), physical health, and mental well-being. Your provider reviews your medications, symptoms, past diagnoses, lifestyle, and questions or concerns you might have.
They also completed a physical exam, which may include a breast exam to screen for breast cancer and a pelvic exam with Pap testing and/or STI screening. Mammograms and HIV testing at The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center are available at no cost.
Additional diagnostic tests you might be a candidate for include blood tests, ultrasounds, heart function tests, or other tests to detect or rule out potential concerns and create a personalized treatment plan when necessary.
Your women’s health specialist can also screen for depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and similar conditions during a mental health evaluation.
